upgrading traccar from 3.11 to 3.12

Hi

i want to upgrade my version of traccar from 3.11 to 3.12.
I have read that: https://www.traccar.org/upgrading-traccar/
but is doesn't say too much about how to upgrade traccar on linux server.

1. Make a database backup -> How?
2. Backup your config file (if modified) -> How? Which is the config file?
3. Remove old version of Traccar -> How? rm -rf or should i use the uninstall procedure?

1. Default database is just a file in "data" folder, but you should NEVER use it for production. If you use MySQL or any other fully-featured database, there is plenty of information on how to back it up.

2. If you modified it, you should know. If you haven't modified, you don't need this step.

3. There is a README file with instructions. Please search before asking questions like this.

1. So? Should i copy and paste the folder after the installation of the new version of traccar?

2. I'have modified a file called default.xml in the conf directory. Is any other file that should i copy/paste?

3. The readme file is a bunch of link that redirect to other page in that site that doesn't say too much for the newbie (like the upgranding procedure).

2. Well, you should avoid modifying default.xml file. You can't simply overwrite a new one with your version. You would have to re-apply your modifications. Ideally you should only be touching traccar.xml config file.

3. If you follow the links, there are instructions. If you have problems with instructions, you would have to be more specific with your questions.

I have been using traccar 3.15, now I want to upgrade it in to 4.1, is it possible to upgrade as per the manual? just leaving the database same as old one?

It should be possible.
