Why would you want to disable it?
I'm not sure I would - I was asking if there were any disadvantages to disabling it. We have plenty of areas with very poor GPRS signal and I imagined the GPS would provide a better coverage so why bother with NTP?
GPS doesn't work if you don't have clear sky visibility. So for example if you're in a covered parking lot, you won't have GPS signal. But GPRS will work there just fine. So depends on your use case.
OK thanks - a good reason to keep NTP enabled.
Does anyone have any thoughts on using NTP for time sync instead of GPS only?
This is an option on my Teltonika FMC920 devices and though I have always used NTP I wondered if there are disadvantages to disabling NTP sync, and using GPS only?
