well i have got it staying online, with changes made in the teltonika. however im still getting comms failre when trying to look back at route history.
hope someone can help
Hi Frank,
Can I ask you how did you stay online?
Also shortening the time limit for sending data.. flashes the same....thanks
Well thats become an intersting topic with the Traccar Owner. It turns out it was doing between 2/3million server entries per day. However Anton couldnt provide any exact settings to reduce these numbers. I have not had chance to play with it again since.
I suspect 3 million records a day was some device malfunction.
As for online status, it has nothing to do with frequency. By default Teltonika devices close network connection after uploading a batch of data. There should be a configuration parameter available to make it stay online between reports. That's the option you need to enable to keep it always online.
For both issues I would recommend contacting Teltonika support.
It's not a serious problem, everything works regularly, it's just a display problem, in practice the Traccar server should keep the router online until the next data is sent and not the other way around. I think it's stupid, but still not interesting.
Traccar does not close connection. Device does. Your statement is simply incorrect.
my english is bad .... yes.
and yes, traccar does not close the connection, in the router there are no configurations available for this, and Teltonika has no intention of modifying its configuration. So I asked if it was possible to change my Traccar server to keep the device online for a minute while waiting for the second data to be sent.
Thank for any help
It is actually possible to ignore disconnect events by using this parameter:
Thanks a lot Anton,
in this way remain green until 8/9 minutes from disconnection, and come back green as soon as the signal is available again, as a last question I ask you if there is a way to shorten this time of 8/9 minutes to one or two minutes.
Thanks again for your help.
Yes, you can change status timeout. Also in configuration.
thanks Anton,
I tried with 'teltonika.timeout' and 'server.timeout' at 120 seconds but instead of being unknown it remains online, I think I'll leave it at 8/9 minutes by default it's a good compromise.
Those are wrong parameters. You should use status.timeout
.
now it's perfect thank you for the time.
status.ignoreOffline teltonika
status.timeout time in second (obviously greater than the one set on the teltonika for sending)
in /opt/traccar/conf/Traccar.xml
Thank u again Anton.
hello
can anybody help me to configure rut955 for tracking ?
Regards
Hi
I have a couple of IOS clients configured in self hosted traccar server. which work fine. they are constantly online (green). Reports work well.
However my Teltonika RUT-955, flashes online/offline. Dependent on the interval i set in the router its self. When doing reports i always get communication failure. Im thinking its because my interval is set to 10seconds, but why would this clog up the the DB when the ios clients are constantly on, with a default frequency of 60.
So i think i need to rectify the following
Get the Teltonika to stay online, with any frequency interval.
Which in turn will probably rectify the logging issues.
Any help appreciated
