Do you think that starting charging from 20% to 100% will consume less energy than charging, let say, from 80% to 100%? ;-)
Instead of connecting directly to the battery, simply plug it into the ignition switch (ACC wire).
I know what you think, but, charging from 99 to 100, all the time, will kill the GPS battery, and I am scared, the motorcycle battery will drain before the GPS?
I have a tracker connected nonstop to my motorcycle and I charge the battery only in winter.
I don't know what type of battery is used in tracker (probably Li-on) and what charge-discharge cycle is.
All magic things is controlled by IC called BCC (battery charge controller), so generally no need to worry about.
Hello, I am looking for a battery powered GPS device that will start charging from motorcycle battery only if dropped bellow, let say, 20%, or the GPS battery will be charged only when ignition is on.
The point is that GPS will not drill motorcycle battery. Santa Claus wish :)
