SIM card in Router -> Traccar -> devices = how?? ;-)

Ann3 years ago

Hi to all ;-)

I'm searching the forum but can't find a solution ...
My server machine is connected to the ArcherMR200 Router, the Internet flows from a SIM card with a fixed IP addressing.
Works perfect!
I am trying to configure the commands available in the Traccarm Server application to be sent via sms to my devices. Where should I start?
My main point is that I could set the broadcast preset with these commands (e.g. fix030s *** n654321), and if the device has low battery, I would like to extend the preset (e.g. fix600s *** n654321).

Have you done something like this before?
Thank you so much for your help!

PS. I will boast. Thanks to the forum, I - not an IT specialist - managed to configure the server and set up a few flavors from the forum '-)

Are you trying to use your modem to send SMS? You would need some service to expose an API there.

You're trying to send server commands via SMS, that's by using a cellphone as proxy. There's instructions on the forum on how to achieve it.
I don't believe the router could use the sim as a phone/sms gateway.

Gentlemen, thank you for your reply.
I connected a router with a mobile modem and a SIM card to my traccar server.
I wish traccar would use this number from the sim card
and it was sending commands to my gps devices.

Do you use commands to configure your devices? If so, please write how.
where can I find [YOUR ACCOUNT SID]?

Traccar would use an app installed on a cellphone as a proxy to send SMS.
If you want it to use anything else (hence a modem or router), you will need to get the software for it from someone else or make it yourself.

Traccar sends commands to devices directly, as long as devices are added on traccar, recognized and working correctly... Trough internet.
