We have been successfully using traccar for over a year now and currently have eight devices tracking on 5 minute intervals. This totals 2,340 geo request per day. I have turned off one device to make sure we stay within Google (free) limits.
I am considering making the traccar server stop & start on a cron schedule, as the devices are only in motion 8 to 12 hours a day. This would allow me to add devices and or decrease the interval on some devices.
I am wondering if anyone has tried this, and if any issues have come up such as devices not re-connecting. I'm also wondering if it would be a reasonable feature request to enable the traccar client to operate on a limited schedule.
Thanks, Mike
You can use third party scheduling apps to enable and disable Traccar Client on certain schedule. It's possible on Android, not iOS.
