I had 5.0, it didn't present any problem, I updated to 5.3 and it started to present this problem.
Do you have multiple users with this notification? Maybe it's one notification for each user?

By "same notification arrives multiple times" do you mean it arrives for each user that has this notification? If yes, that's by design.
