Issue with Globalstar Provisioning Route

Hi everyone,

Our company is working on integrating the Globalstar protocol with Traccar, and I’ve run into an issue with the provisioning route. According to the Globalstar support team:

  • The data route (STU messages) is working fine.
  • However, the provisioning route isn’t working as expected. When their system sends a provisioning message (used for device activation), the server replies with an empty response instead of the required XML response.

Globalstar mentioned that:

  • Provisioning messages are sent by their system when a device is activated through their portal.
  • These messages require a specific XML response to confirm successful processing.

It seems like Traccar isn’t currently set up to handle these provisioning messages or generate the correct XML response. Could you help me figure out:

  • How to configure the provisioning route in Traccar?
  • What changes might be needed to ensure compatibility with Globalstar’s requirements?

If you need more details or logs, let me know! Thanks in advance for your help.

Best regards,

If something is not supported, you would probably need to change the code.

Does the device (IMEI) need to be pre-registered in the Traccar platform before Globalstar perform the provisioning request? Or can Traccar handle provisioning requests for devices that are not yet registered in the system?

Any guidance or clarification on this would be greatly appreciated.

You definitely have to register device in the system first.
