Is this chinese GSM GPS usb car charger tracker supported, "easyway"

I came across this on ebay and it would be perfect for rolling out to autos since you simply plug it in the charger. It takes a sim card and i was wondering if it is supported by Traccar?

Using Method:

• Preparation: A SIM card and mini memory card. When the user buys a new SIM card, the GPRS function should be opened, otherwise, the function for sending MMS by taking photos would be invalid.
• Starting: Insert SIM card after opening the card cover according to the indicating direction, then insert the mini memory card, the product will automatically switch on the red light with shining four times, then enter standby state in 30 seconds.
• Binding the master number: Use the mobile phone to send the text message 000 to the alarm locator, the machine will reply a text message; Set; Binding + the master number.
• Recording alone: Use the mobile phone to send the text message 555 to the alarm locator, the machine will reply a text message ( Send; recording is starting ).
• Callback by voice: Use the mobile phone to send the text message 666 to the alarm locator, the machine will reply a text message ( DT; voice monitoring and warning callback have been set successfully ).
  When the sound around the alarm locator is more than 40 db, the alarm locator will automatically call the set phone number.
• GPRS positioning query: Use the mobile phone to send the text message 777 to the alarm locator, the machine will reply a link of location and Google map. Open this link to appear the location map and text address instructions to get more accurate location.
• Callback by voice: Use the mobile phone to send the text message 888 to the alarm locator, the machine will reply a text message ( the main machine's all features, such as On / Off, battery, binding number, signal strength, frequency start-up, GPRS TF card capacity, etc ).
• Restart the main machine: Use the mobile phone to send the text message 999 to the alarm locator, then wait for 1 min to restore normally.
• Delete the content of the memory card: Use the mobile phone to send the text message 445 to the alarm locator, ( the machine will reply a text message; TF, deletion is successful, it has capacity )
• Close function: Use the mobile phone to send the text message 444 to the alarm locator, the machine will reply a text message ( Reset; all tasks are cancelled ).
• Voice query around the product: Directly dial the card number in the alarm locator, then hear the sound around the alarm locator after a few seconds ( the alarm locator doesn't make any sound and light in the process of query )
• Indicator: ON light will be off after it becomes light for 4 times, low battery indicator will flash quickly.

it seems like the only info there is on this, is what i had posted from the ebay listing. i didn't know how to set the dns server name on the device?

it says that we can dial the sim and it will text a message back with a link to the location on a google map but i want it to send the data to my traccar install not a text message?

any thoughts would be appreciated.

It should be possible if device supports GPRS communication, but I don't know any details on how to set up this particular device.

I just got one of those and already regret it ? The instructions are scarce (just what it is posted above) , and it doesn't say what is the device IMEI, how to set the IP of the server the device should connect to, and what should be entered to login at http://www.08gps.com/login.php, which I was supposed to use to track the device (according to some info I could dig in some forum).

I don't even know where to start...

Anyone had any luck with these?

Request documentation from the seller. Alternatively you can try to find people who use same device and ask how they configured their devices.

I cannot even find the manufacturer. The model name GF-11 also shows no results on Google. I guess I should just forget about it...

Where did you buy it? Request documentation from there.

If it's not possible, your best bet would be to find matching device by a photo and try to get any documentation for it.

This device works with SMS only, no GPRS. BTW, it's not a GPS but an LBS device.

As far as Traccar is concerned it's essentially a paperweight like many pseudo-GPS devices that don't give a mean to set the IP and port.

The only way round I could think of is to set up a [SIM800 GSM receiver -> Arduino -> Ethernet] module to receive the SMS from the device and send a proper OsmAnd message to Traccar. But unless you already have the necessary modules and are prepared to program the Arduino, it's not economically realistic.

Traccar supports LBS-only devices, but it can't handle SMS location reports at the moment.

Yeap, LBS or GPS make no difference (short of accuracy of localization), I only wanted to warn potential buyers of the marketing lie concerning this product (and unfortunately many others...).
