Problem installing on ubuntu 14.04

./setup.sh: 10: ./setup.sh: systemctl: not found
./setup.sh: 11: ./setup.sh: systemctl: not found
./setup.sh: 12: ./setup.sh: systemctl: not found

You need systemd. I would recommend you upgrade to a newer version of Ubuntu because 14.04 is basically at the end of support.

Yep I agree. Its about time I did and traccar is worth it. cheers for the push Anton

Can you think of a work around Anton. Unfortunately I cant upgrade my system without breaking other things

Try installing systemd on your existing system.

I did try that on another occasion which caused problems with other start-ups that needed upstart but I will have another bash at it

Alternative is to just run Traccar manually:
