How many devices can I track with my server ?

Hello,
It would be nice if someone could tell me how many devices can I track with this kind of configuration ?

• VPS / Ubuntu server
• 1 vCore
• 2,4 GHz
• 2 Go RAM
• SSD 10 Go
  I need 1 device for 1 user.

I would like to track 250 GPS trackers.

Maybe this kind of configuration would be better ?

• 2 vCores
• 2,4 GHz
• 8 Go RAM
• SSD 40 Go

Hardware requirements also depend on the frequency of messages from devices. For example if every device sends a message every 1 minute it's one story, but if it's every 5 seconds it's 12x times more messages and 12x higher load on the server.

First configuration might be enough for 250 devices, but the second one is definitely better.

I foresee 3 messages per minute. So I think I will use the second configuration.
