How identify protocol on a Chinese tracker?

excepticons9 years ago

Hi.

I have concluded that it is fully important identify the tracker protocol in order to assign the correct port. With the correct port, Traccar Server platform will detect the tracker easy and will get its information correctly.

I have a personal tracker for kids on my family. This is the tracker:

Personal Tracker

Well, according to its manual, model is ET106, but I assume it is a LK106 model. According to the list of supported devices, I note that the port is 5013. However, after I configured the device with the public IP address and port 5013 (admin123456 xx.xx.xx.xx 5013) and I configured on the platform (with tracker IMEI), the tracker does not appear in Traccar connected server.

What do you think about this issue?

Thanks in advance.

you have the port correct (5013) which is also the correct port for all of the TKStar branded trackers I have seen so far.

one thing springs to mind.

you have to enable gprs on these devices by sending them a text message of "gprs123456" and then tell them how often to update with a message like "upload123456 30" for 30 second updates

once you have done these messages check your tracker-server.log file for a line similar to...
"2016-04-06 04:42:05 WARN: Unknown device - 2441060230 (82.132.213.91)"

the number in bold is the number your tracker is reporting to the server

if it helps below are all the commands I use to set these up from scratch

begin123456
apn123456 apn-address apn-username apn-password
adminip123456 ... 5013
sleep123456 shock
gprs123456
upload123456 30
