GPS Device Time to first fix / Improving cold start

I have multiple GPS devices that can take 1-2 minutes before obtaining lock on a satellite on cold start.

Just curious to know how everyone else gets around this problem.

  • My device sits in a phone cradle which is stuck to my window
  • I let the car idle still for 1-2 minutes before driving
  • OBD device on extension cable

This will help a lot of the times, but often I find the unit fails to get signal for 2+ minutes.
