Hi Anton!
Thank you for the very very fast answer.
The reason is that i run the server as a no-budget education project :-).
So if there is a not to complicated way for a costless valid certificate I will do.
Nevertheless, nearly any App out there is able to accept self-signed certificates. I think it would be a benefit for the TraccarApp if it also does cooperate with self-signed certs.
What do you think Anton!
Yours!
Markus
Hi Markus,
Self-signed certificates will not work even if CA used is trusted by (installed on) Your device. A site You're looking for is Let's encrypt.
Free certificates for 3 months with endless, free renewal, wildcard support and furthermore - with ready to use scripts to renew those certificates for You.
Most apps do accept self signed certs but having nonprofit CA is very compelling argument to simply use proper certificates.
Especially if it's for education then going with more professional approach is even better ;-)
Lots of tutorials regarding use of Let's encrypt so You shouldn't have any issues.
Regards,
Krzysztof
+1 to what Krzysztof said. Just use Let's encrypt.
Good evening Krzysztof and Anton!
Your made my day.
Yes, with Let's encrypt it finally works. Thank you very much!
Markus
Any reason you don't want to get a proper valid certificate? I suspect the issue is that it's self signed.
