I want to attach a tracking device to a power generator.
Due to the nature of the asset we do not have permanent electricity so the device cannot be charged in conventional ways.
I tried several devices with a long battery life, but because of the vibration of the generator, it reports movement all day and runs out of battery quickly.
I was thinking of connecting the tracking device to a small solar panel.
I am looking for a Traccar compatible tracking device that can charge via USB.
My main requirement is for the device to report location every 60 seconds. And if he leaves the polygon to receive an alert.
There is a preference for a device with a magnetic case.
Has anyone tried hooking up a tracking device to a solar panel and survived to tell the tale?
