Can I replace the HTTP request with another URL scheme?

I want to log the track data in a database on the iOS device. The database (Filemaker) can respond to a URL syntax fmp://$/database?script=scriptname&variablename=value. I would not need the client to also send to a remote server.

What parts of the iOS client source would need to be changed?
