Can I make a map with stops and a tail for Santa Tracking?

Anton this is awesome! We've been using this for Santa parades for years. We have been improving it ourselves to integrate better for all our local fire departments but this just made things a thousand times better. We have over 30 fire departments and local Santa parades using it. We do this all for free every year so people can find Santa easily. Next year will be amazing. Thank you and happy new year!

EDIT: Found it. You go to the user and associate the device there.

@Anton if you see this by chance I am back setting this up again using version 4.15 and can't remember how to associate each of the Santa devices (we run two simultaneous routes) with a given geofence/polyline. Is it as simple as clicking on the device, then the gear, then geofences, and only selecting the geofence that device should be seen for?

When I go to /zone5 I don't see any plotting of any device, but I know my phone is sending updates and the device is green/Online in the backend view. We go live in 5 hours tonight and I thought I had this ready to go.

I think you just need to link specific geofence to a specific user. You don't need to link them to devices.

Anton I was thinking the same but then I brought up your instructions on github and it clicked:

Create a polyline geofence. Each point will be marked as a stop on Santa's route.
Make sure both geofence and device are linked to the user.

...without that device being linked to the user it doesn't know which device to plot for that session, so Santa's icon doesn't show up until you do it.

I feel like you're confusing two completely different things. One thing is linking devices/geofences to users, which is needed obviously. Another entirely different thing is linking geofences to devices. That is what you asked about previously and it's not required, as far as I remember.

ahh no, I think we're talking about the same thing. I went into the read-only users that have a token assigned to them that is also in the app.js file and I associated that user to the relevant device. Sorry if I said otherwise.
