All devices have ceased to send location data to database

Ian Pither3 months ago

I have 3 devices that have worked perfectly for years, I've had a period of illness and the server has been down. Now it is back up and running all devices show locations in the status screen but nothing is reaching the database, all device identifiers are matching, have data and the web addresses are correct, 1 device has also been tested using wifi, what am I missing please?

  1. What is the status screen?
  2. What do you see in the logs?

The status screen in Traccar client shows: time(15:59) - location update :at the correct intervals
Sorry I don't know how to get the logs

Sounds like you haven't done troubleshooting. Please check the documentation section first.

Ive checked the documentation and I can't find a troubleshooting section, sorry, i thought it may be a simple fix for someone in the know.
I'm guessing the connection to the database is most likely the cause but I don't know where to find the configuration file as I got you to set the system up for me in the first place. please excuse my ignorance.

You seriously can't find anything about troubleshooting when you open the documentation?

I couldn't no, but then again I didn't know where I was looking.
I have now found it and checked my iOS device and location is set to "always" and background refresh is "on".
Nothing has changed in the last 2 weeks other than the server has been off and it's 4 iPhones which record location data but nothing reaches the database.
Also, Traccar Manager indicates that each device is on, but the last update was 18 days ago (when the server shut down), therefore all 4 devices are communications with Traccar Manager but not with the database.
I'm sorry again for my ignorance but its like asking my wife to check if the EGR valve is operating correctly on her car.
