Displaying a Tactical reference for a device ID?
I'm not sure I understand. We display the device name, which can be anything. We don't display the id.
Pardon my ignorance, you are correct - that mapping wasn't clear to me. Perhaps a better question is can I have an ID with multiple names? Or, can I change the name for a given ID as the situation demands it?
- You cannot have multiple devices with the same unique id.
- You can obviously change name at any time if you wish.
Have you actually tried it before asking for help here? It seems like a trivial thing to try yourself.
Given that I took the wrong approach, I hadn't thought to try it - but with my new understanding (thanks) I most certainly will....
Can the Traccar server use a unique Device ID and display it as something else? For example, I'm using my phone number xxx-xxx-xxxx as my unique device ID. I'd like to display that as something else on the map - say "MOTO-319".
Have I missed a setting that allows me to do that?
