Minify - where to start

I've found https://www.traccar.org/build/ and https://www.traccar.org/build-extjs/ but not really any the wiser with instructions based on Ubuntu.
I'm primarily a Windows user. I have installed sencha on my PC, but unsure how to use it - hence my post.

Would still love to learn how to do it 'properly', but I have found a work around....
Using https://www.minifier.org/ I have minified single files and then found and replaced the relevant section in app.min.js. Not the easiest, but I have managed to do what I wanted to.

Does anyone have any hints / tips / go to resources to help someone understand how to install and use minify to create the app.min.js
I have made some changes to some js files and have what I want working on
http://127.0.0.1:8082/debug.html, but struggling to understand what to do next.I'm working with version 4.14 if it makes a difference.
Any recommended reading / step by step guides or youtube videos welcome.
Apologies if I have missed something within these forums and support documentation. My google skills are clearly failing me today!
