Hi Dibbs
I bought one TTU2830LA gps and I’m trying to follow your instructions. It came with ATT sim. I inserted my phone sim to check the status using !R0 sms command but didn’t get any response.
There is no serial port as you mentioned in your earlier post to send commands using serial interface. But there is a jumper port. See picture
I have a usb serial cable that I can use to jump and program it. I have this sub cable
Please guide me there I need to connect the cables. Thanks
@Sheikh
There is no serial port on most trackers - i.e. nothing that says Serial Port.
Most of these devices have wires or pins that can be used to connect to a serial port on a PC\laptop or an interface device. I can not comment on the cable you are wanting to use, but as per my 1st post on page 1,
cheap USB to FTDI converter adapter to connect to a the device - known as a "CH340G USB TTL Serial Adapter"
if you use one of those you should be able to connect to the unit. As per the install instructions at Calamp:
https://help.calamp.com/files/references/install/TTU28install.pdf
on the page that is labelled Page 7 - it gives the pinouts. For your unit, the wires you would want to connect to are:
1 (Black) - GND
2 (Red) - Primary Power
9 (Green\Black) - Serial Output
10 (Blue\Black) - Serial Input
The Serial Output from the CHG340G would need to go to the Serial Input of the unit and the Serial Output from the unit would need to go to the Serial Input on the CHG340G.
After that you could try the commands as per my post via Putty
This is usb TTL serial adapter with 4 cables.
My question is from the board picture where do I connect to send commands to the gps?
Ok get it you are talking about the cables coming out of the gps identify the colors and connect the TTL usb cables to them? I do not need to connect anything on the pcb board?
I bought this one from Amazon should be arriving today. I’ll let you know if it works

Hi Dibbs
I was able to program thank you.
One question if I don’t want to assign a port because my server is a sub domain and forwarded to npm and npm is forwarding to server port. How can I do it. I tried “” and as well as 0 as port but it stayed 0?
Thanks got it working.
