I bought this device on Amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07B5P45QZ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details. On the sticker it says it's a GV500MA. It comes with a sim card. I was able to activate it on lightninggps website and everything is working great. With lightninggps web app, i can see the device phone number and few info that are read-only, server, password(blank) and device type (Queclink GV500). so i cannot update those informations.
Now i'm trying to send an SMS from my cellphone to the sim car phone number to configure it to use my traccar server. I tried this command :
AT+GTQSS=gv500,,,,3,,1,mytraccarserver,5004,,0,,10,0,0,,FFFF$
Nothing happens, what am i missing ?

Are you sure that the server is not vendor locked and you can change it?
I did not realized that the vendor can lock the device. so i guess i will just return it and find another one.

Many devices that come with a service subscription are locked. That's the because device cost is subsidized and they want you to pay for their services.
