Hello a few days ago I have been presenting a novelty and is that some vehicles send location intermittently, ie appear offline or in unknown status most of the time and when they send location send it for short periods, the devices have been in motion, I use GT06 devices, I have sent the command "STATUS #" and their response is always "GPRS: link down", initially I thought it was a device error but when I looked at the server logs I found that these devices that have this problem always disconnect after an error message that says "error - Connection reset - SocketException (.. ..)", how could I solve it, the server is in a digital ocean vps and the ssl certificates as well as the dns redirection I use it with ngix.
So what made you think it's not a device issue? "Connection reset" means that the device has disconnected.
I had the same issue and I was able to fix by changing the Sim provider. Issue may with the device or the sim card.
