Hey Team,
I've been using Traccar on my Fasthosts VPS for about 6 months with no troubles.
I went to visit tracker yesterday and found that the tracker app was inaccessible and my IP:8082 was timing out - when investigating further I found my storage devices to be full on the Linux server.
I spent a few hours trying to fix this and also found that SQL was failing to start.
As the tracker only supports 1 device it seemed quicker to reset the VPS and reconfigure.
I reset my VPS Linux machine, followed all the instructions on https://www.traccar.org/install-digitalocean/
This is what i did when I originally set it up and originally no problems.
The Firewall rules are still present
I am unsure at this point if the issue is caused due to a mis configuration of Tracar and the service is not running or if it's a Firewall connectivity issue.
If anyone is able to assist identify the cause it would be greatly appreciated.
My partner had her motorbike stolen 6 months ago so do worry while this is down we have no protection. Happy to pay for the assistance of someones time.
I've checked the troubleshooting article https://www.traccar.org/troubleshooting/ but there is no information on how to ensure the services etc are running properly and my Linux knowledge is very limited so please do excuse my ignorance. ,
Thanks.
I used winSCP to browse to the directory /opt/traccar/conf/traccar.xml and this looks to be configured properly.
Again, excuse my ignorance I know this can be done via SSH but my Linux CLI is not so great
I checked and it looks like the service is running.... I'm starting to feel like this is more a Firewall issue... I wonder why as this has been fine for 6 months..hmmmm
Fixed it. Removed all the Firewall Rules and put back, made no difference.... I noticed on the FastHosts control panel there was a Reassign All IP's in the Firewall Policy, it said it was in there but I re-assigned and immediately refreshed Traccar and it worked.
I will setup the data clear script as per https://www.traccar.org/clear-history/ to prevent this happening again.
So how much space do you have (and what size was your database)?
Since If one device fills your total space (even when its a long time saving data) it must be really small.
