Any 4G device should work. Just make sure the frequency bands are compatible. Many vendors provide different versions of the same device designed for different frequencies.
As for the phone service, the signal quality depends on the area. In some places T-Mobile is better in others Verizon, in others probably AT&T. You should really check the area where you plan to use it.
