Software problem: GPS Device Freezing without reason: An Issue with Movement Tracking

Hello everyone. I would like to present my issue below.

  • Lately, I have noticed that some GPS devices, while in motion, suddenly freeze their movement on the map (even though they have a normal signal). After a while, they appear in another location. This happens because during the freeze, the vehicles with the devices are actually moving.
  • The same thing also happens to vehicles that are stationary and when the program starts, they remain stationary.

Notes:

• Device freezing occurs randomly, not in any specific location. In approximately 99% of the areas, there is a normal signal, but for some unknown reason, the program freezes the devices.
• There are also cases of two parked vehicles side by side, with the same connection and device, starting to move at the same time, and in one, the program shows that it is starting directly, while in the other, it suddenly appears after 5 to 25 minutes.
• I also noticed that the devices, when frozen by the program, still receive SMS messages and respond to them. I have observed these issues starting a few days ago.

P.S. I don't know if there is a limit on how many devices I should have connected to the program, and that's when such problems start occurring

How about mentioning which OS and version of traccar you use and how many devices you have connected, what is the server load ?

Probably the first thing you should check is server logs.

Anton Tananaev.... First of all, thank you for the prompt response. I will look into it and report if a solution is found for the specific issue. However, I would like to ask if there is anything within the lags that you believe I should pay more attention to. I mean, has anything similar happened before so that I can focus on that?

It happens all the time for all sorts of reasons. You need to investigate it to find to root cause.

I have this daily experience, it happens with GT06 and TK (gps103) when they go into sleep mode, the positions are out of order and the equipment freezes, it sends a lat/lon position zeroed as valid when going into sleep, even with the filters for these positions pass.

I have a palliative solution, which consists of removing records from the database prior to 2010 and greater than 12/31/CURRENT YEAR.

Also records with speed greater than 300 km/h

They are characteristics of the records that these devices send when they are in sleep or pass through a shadow area.
