If you can still login with the default domain then change the password after login. So you can be sure you use the actual new password when you try with sub.domainB.com
It actually should not matter which domain you use as long as you point it to the same server ip.
Meaby you can also acces the traccar server through the ip instead of the domain name also ?
To test i would als ping these domains through command line to check if they point to the same ip:
ping domainA.com
ping sub.domainB.com
Logicly you also must have configured the sub domain on your server in apache / nginx. Which webserver do you use ?

The first thing I tried was to change the password. I can log in to domainA.com with that password but not sub.domainB.com or via IP. As I use a cloud provider I can't log in using the provided default URL either.
an nslookup on all 3 domains to the same IP.
ill need to check the apache webserver thing.
Just tried to update the traccar.xml file with the new URL with no change in behavour
If you can log in with one domain, but not the other, they must be pointing to different servers. Or maybe you're using iframe instead of proper DNS.
just tested from my Iphone browser and the APP it works both with the new url. So going to try from another machine.
must be my laptop as i tried inprivate browser session.
OK shoot me with a blunt spoon.
Antivirus blocking my connection as the CERT no longer matches.
All
I have stupidly forgotten to renew a domain (domainA.com) assigned to my Traccar server. As a contingency, I have another domain that I can use which I have allocated a subdomain (sub.domainb.com) to redirect to the server IP just in case the original domainA.com stops working.
This seems to work fine as the sub.domainb.com resolves and I get to the traccar login screen.
however, i cannot log in with my username and password when using the alternative sub.domainB.com. (no change to usernames or passwords)
If i go to the original domainA.com which thankfully still resolves I can log in with no problem.
What am I missing and have to change the new sub.domainB.com redirect to let me login?
