Notification linked issues

Vijai2 years ago

Have some issues. Appreciate your help please.
I have configured notifications for 3 team members and put in their email address too. But only I am getting the emails. My two colleagues are not getting any emails. Not sure why.
I have created geo-fences and created two rules – one for entry and one for exit. I am getting notifications (on email and web) for entry but no notifications are coming for exit from the geo-fence.
This does sound illogical but is there any link between geo-fence entry notifications and device going offline with icon color changing to RED? Been seeing a pattern – as soon Geofence Entry notification is triggered, the device goes offline and then goes back online after few minutes. Same pattern can be seen in the event report too.
Appreciate your guidance to resolve these please.

Have you checked logs for errors?

Did the subusers create their own notifications or did you share your notification with the conected tab in the users or device settings?
Have the same issue unanswered here but using telegram instead of email:
https://www.traccar.org/forums/topic/telegram-notifications-admin-always-recives-messsage-for-other-users-devices/

Seems when you share a notification to a device or user that u created its always using YOU for notification
Each user has to manually create notification for the channels he wishes

That's definitely not the case. Sharing notifications shouldn't cause any issues.

Hi, I see the following log:

2022-12-11 05:42:50 WARN: Geocoder network error - HTTP 429 Too Many Requests - ClientErrorException (... < JsonGeocoder:126 < NotificationManager:97 < *:124 < BaseEventHandler:40 < ...)

2022-12-11 05:42:51 WARN: Geocoder network error - HTTP 429 Too Many Requests - ClientErrorException (... < JsonGeocoder:126 < NotificationManager:97 < *:124 < BaseEventHandler:40 < ...)

However, some of the emails come in but some don't specially the geofence exit ones do not come.

@anton well it definatly does. checkted and testet it several time. if a user creates his own notification all is fine. if i as admin assign my notofication only i get the message.

for @husain it looks more like an error with his geocoder account ?

Vijai2 years ago

Thanks for the replies. Would the geo-coder account error also result in the device going offline when Geofence Entry notification is triggered and then goes back online after few minutes?

Are you using two difference forum accounts?

Husain and I are colleagues and hence both of us responding on this thread.

The error indicates that you have a problem with your SMTP configuration.

What version of Traccar are you using? It doesn't look like you're using the latest version. Try upgrading first.

We are using 5.3. Will try to update and then check. Thanks!
