I don't know anything about device configuration, but if you have protocol documentation or message samples I can try to confirm whether it's supported or not.
Thank you for the quick response Anton. The device seems to use the gl200
protocol based on what I have read online. I have not tested it yet as the device is still charging.
What I am not understanding at this point is whether I can simply put in another SIM card I have here or if I MUST use the one provided by Amcrest (and pay them for service).
Hi Anton, as said above I have a AM-GL300W-4G, which seems to be Amcrest's branded version of Queclink GL300W.
I have Traccar set up using Docker and am trying to get the GPS device ready to be added to Traccar.
My understanding is that I have to configure the GPS device (via SMS or via AT commands) to report position to my Traccar server.
The GPS device seems to respond to gl300 commands but the default password on that Amcrest device is not gl300
Is there a way, as far as you know, to reset or override the device password without knowing it beforehand? Without knowledge of the password, I can't configure it to report its position to my Traccar server.
Another thought I have been having is to brute-force the password by writing a script of some sort. Do you know if that would be an effective way to identify the password for this branded GL300W?
Do you know what AT command could be used to do that brute forcing (some command that can be called repeatedly without having any negative impact on the device)?
Thank you
I don't think I can help with that.
Hi all, I am new here and am trying to wrap my head around how to set up things.
I have this AM-GL300W-4G tracker that I have used with Amcrest before. I don't have an active subscription with Amcrest anymore, and the device has an AT&T SIM card in it.
Thank you in advance
