I would suggest to start here:
Thanks for the reply, FIRST where did you find the link to "Troubleshooting" I scoured the whole website looking for Troubleshooting, FAQ, Advanced setup etc. so I could self help and could not find anything, perhaps I am blind?
Here is my log file .

Thanks.
It's on the documentation page:
https://www.traccar.org/documentation/
It's basically a catalog of all the information available on the website.
As for the log, it doesn't have any HEX data from the device, so it means server doesn't receive anything. Are you using Traccar Client on your phone? What do you see on the status screen in the app?
Yes I am using the client on my cell phone
Service created
connectivity change
send failed
OK, have you actually went through the troubleshooting page? What IP address and port are you using in Traccar Client?
I am sorry I have way too many browsers open here and am getting very confused.
I am using the ip address found here http://www.whatsmyip.org/ the port is 8082
Why are you using port 8082? Correct port for Traccar Client is 5055.
Because it says localhost:8082 in my browser where did you come up with 5055?
Port in cell phone changed to 5055
Send failed
Send failed
Send failed
Send failed
Port check tool says "Port is closed"
Port 8082 is ONLY for web console. It's never used for devices.
Port 5055 is the default one in the app, it's also mentioned in devices list and the official webpage for Traccar Client. It's also on the Google Play and App Store listings. Not to mention many forum and GitHub threads.
Anyway, if the port is shown as closed, it means that it's not visible from internet. If Traccar service is running, it means there is some network problem (firewall, router or something else).
I can see right now my biggest mistake was watching the video, I am trying to purge my brain and just start all over, I am trying to figure out how to remove all traces of Traccar from my home computer and two cell phones so I can start all over and hopefully sort this all out.
Can you direct me to the directions for removing everything, all traces of Traccar from all my devices then direct me to the step by step instructions on installation and setup, I need the FOR DUMMIES instructions, I think my fatal mistake was the quick install, the quick install must assume many things about me my computer and my devices. Not being able to see the port tell me I have missed many steps in the installation process.
Also take into consideration I am not a computer guy and have little to no computer skills I am just a computer end user, I am a construction worker to make my money and buy ATV's, I use ATV's to ride offroad in the desert, I use my computer to find useful tools, hardware, software to track and document my ATV adventures. I would also like to use Traccar to track me to and from the trails so my wife knows where we are.
Is it possible to install Traccar on my web server so I can eliminate all the problems with worrying about the home computer being online 24/7?
Thanks again for your patients and help.
To remove server, uninstall it and remove the folder.
What kind of web server do you have? If it's VPS, then you can. If it's shared hosting, most likely it won't be possible to install Traccar there.
Installing Traccar should be very easy. The problem comes when you try to do it on a personal computer. Many ISPs don't even give customers public IP addresses. Then there is firewall and router. If you use VPS, then you don't need to worry about any of those issues.
Not sure what kind of server it is the host service I use is http://www.hostgator.com/
Their must be a tool to run or a step by step guide to check the status of public IP addresses, firewalls and routers? If their is something blocking the connection between my cell phone and computer their must be a way to determine where in the path the connection is broken other than "Send failed" on the cell phone end ?
Thanks again sorry for all the problems and dumb questions.
Followed the installation instructions and its not working, never get any updated info from the cell phone to the server on my home computer.
Suggestions where to start for troubleshooting?
Is their a detailed setup guide?
Also I have a webserver for my webpage can I host the Traccar Server on my hosting service so Traccar is not dependent on my home computer system?
Thanks a bunch.
