I have already installed Traccar on my local machine, but I can only use my device when I am connected to my mobile phone (Traccar Client) on my local network. How can I now make it so that I can use my smartphone outside the home network ?
I have the possibility to install it on a friend's server, would that be the solution to the problem ? If so, what are the requirements and configuration of Traccar if I put it on my own server ? How much RAM, what ports for example ...?
I have also seen the possibility of installing it on a Digital Ocean server, but I would like to save the 5 bucks a month if possible, as a friend is providing me with space on the server.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks !
You need 1GB RAM minimum. Ports are listed in the documentation.
my traccar instance is running fine on a 1€/month VPS. Also tried to host it at home, but had too much trouble with that. If it's only a toy, this might be enough.
