After opening the client app on iOS, it reports location just fine and the server shows the reported position.
However, after a while (about 1-1.5 h) it stops, probably because the iOS system closes the background process.
I have verified battery optimisations are off, and looking at the Background App Refresh menu (Settings App - > General - > Background App Refresh) the traccar client app is not shown in the list and I cannot enable background operation for it.
Is it possible to add the app to the Background App Refresh setting menu with a permission requirement of some sort on the app level? ANy other ideas?
Thanks,
Sefi
"Background App Refresh" is not required for background location updates.
So how come the app stops reporting every 2 h on average?
Not sure. Maybe you can get system logs to see what happens to the app.
Sure, i'd be happy to. Could you explain how should I get those logs?
Google it. I don't know the answer off the top of my head.
