Protocol Identification

Jon W5 years ago

I'm sorry to bother you. I've tried my very best to identify the correct protocol of my device, but it's beaten me. I thought it uses TK103, because it seems to use a 12-digit identifier, which relates to the 'Unit ID' on the device.

My device is a Wireless Links Piccolo

Here's the HEX:

Any assistance greatly appreciated.

I've found an old post from 4 years ago stating no integration with Wireless Links hardware... So now I'm not too optimistic.

Just my luck, as I have two devices needing integration!

The easiest is just to add several devices with different ids, full imei, short one, appending zeros etc and then set all the possible ports one by one while waiting after switching if one of them come online

Hi Anton,

I'm really struggling trying to work out which protocol my Wireless Links Piccolo device is using.

Are you able to help please?

Anton Tananaev5 years ago

Do you have protocol documentation?

Jon W5 years ago

I have a PDF from Wireless Links that may be of use. Can I email it?

Anton Tananaev5 years ago

Sure, you can use support email.

It looks like the protocol is not supported yet.

Jon W5 years ago

So no chance of connecting my two devices then?

Anton Tananaev5 years ago

No, we need to implement support for it on the server side before you can use it.

Jon W5 years ago

Sorry, so many questions...

Is this something that will just happen within your development schedule? If so, do you have an approximate timescale?

I'm conscious this is open source... Do payments help?

Anton Tananaev5 years ago

Sometimes we do add protocols for free, but because of the amount of other high priority work, it's very unlikely in this case.

If you are interested in sponsoring the implementation, we can discuss details over the email.

Hi, I am interesting too, can I join to the negotiations?

Anton Tananaev4 years ago

Sure, send an email to support if you are interested in sponsoring the work.
