Hazelcast as DB Caching
I have considered it and I think it's one of the best options.
based on your assessment or estimate, how much effort will it take to integrate Hazelcast to the project?
I would say from a couple of weeks to a month.

Have you considered using Hazelcast as database caching to make it distributed/shared, I believe this is the most frequently asked question on the forum to make the system scalable if ever it is possible, what could be the challenges in using Hazelcast.
