TK-Star TK909 commands via website

Hello everyone !

I have been testing Traccar for a bit now on the demo servers and suffice to say it's really good !

I just wanted to know if it was possible to send commands to my TK-909 (pet tracker) via the website interface, as I can't seem to get it working right.

Cheers !

It should be possible. Which command are you trying, what protocol are you using? Also, do you have documentation for your device?

I am using this GPS tracker : https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/61JW08m49NL._SL1200_.jpg
I wanna try any command that might work but for this example, let's say change the sleep behavior.
SMS commands are as follows :
sleep123456 time (will put the device to sleep 5 minutes after the last command)
sleep123456 shock (will put the device to sleep after a certain amount of immobile time)
sleep123456 off (will disable sleep completely and keep device on)

Not sure what you mean by protocol, but Traccar has it listed as TK909, using h02 protocol on port 5013.

I have the default documentation booklet, also available here : https://www.manualslib.com/manual/945474/Tk-Star-Tk909.html#manual

Network commands format is likely different from SMS commands. You need to get corresponding documentation.

Dang. Wouldn't know where to look for it :/
Guess I'll try the TK Star website, but I don't hold much hopes.

Seems that this person was at least able to get HEX messages in Traccar. I'm not seeing any : https://www.traccar.org/forums/topic/please-help-me-with-tkstar-909/

I'm very confused by your last comment. How are HEX messages related to commands?

NGNeer6 years ago

Guess I'm confused too. I thought my device might not be communicating with Traccar properly if I didn't get HEX messages. Guess not.

If there are no HEX messages, it means that your device doesn't report anything to the server.

NGNeer6 years ago

Well, at least it's reporting its position. Better than nothing I suppose :P

Hello again !

I just obtained what I think are relevant documents for the TK909.

Would anyone mind taking a look please ?

The only way to send messages to the device is by SMS, so if you want to send them throgh platform you need to set up a SMPP server.
