3.15: port-forwarding to local traccar-server

rolsch7 years ago

Hello Anton.

I have this network config:

DSL-Router (AVM 7490) with dyn-ip and a Win7 Workstation.

Set in the router a forward from external port 18082 to internal IP 192.168.xxx.xxx and port 8082.

Now i can connect with the web browser to the traccar server.
At the android traccar-client i have set the dyn-ip URL and port 18082.

This works but i don't understood why?

  • the documentation says the port for traccar Client is 5055.

Can you explain why the data is received?

Regards
Roland

Because there is a special proxy for that now. Too many people were using wrong port, so I decided to implement a proxy. It is still recommended to use port 5055 directly.
