Most likely your device reports incorrect odometer information. You can easily check it in State panel.
I think you are right. Was just watching a the Status of a vehicle while it was traveling. I saw that the Total Distance, Trip Odometer, and the Distance fields in the Status panel all increment as the vehicle moves. At the end of the trip, the Trip Odometer and the Total Distance shows as their last values at the time the vehicle stopped. However, the Distance field resets itself to 0 when the vehicle stops.
Is there any way to override the final reset to 0?
Mike
Distance field is the distance from last position, so it makes sense than it's 0 when vehicle stops. You need to look at the odometer value. What is "trip odometer"? Is there a regular odometer value in the attributes?
Hi,
Thank you. Please see attached screenshot: https://s3.amazonaws.com/webserver-junk-us/Screen+Shot+2017-11-12+at+5.40.10+PM.png
The Trip Odometer field shows 2.06 miles, which is correct. But the Distance in the Trip Report shows 0.
Thanks again,
Mike
I'm not sure why you are keep talking about "trip odometer". Traccar does not use it!!! You need to look at the "odometer" field, as I said earlier.
Got it. That's a field that the Castel device must send up. Traccar uses the odometer field. When the vehicle starts moving, I will check the odometer value and see if it increments.
Thanks,
Mike
Hi,
So, after the same vehicle started and traveled some distance, the odometer increased.
This shows the Status before the vehicle left: https://s3.amazonaws.com/webserver-junk-us/Screen+Shot+2017-11-12+at+5.40.10+PM.png
This shows the Status after the vehicle arrives at the new location: https://s3.amazonaws.com/webserver-junk-us/Screen+Shot+2017-11-12+at+6.29.09+PM.png
Seems like the Distance field in the Trip report should show about 2 miles (the difference between the before and after odometer readings). Is this correct?
Mike
It does show about 2 miles difference, but only you can tell if it's correct.
Hi,
I am working with a Castel 213L device. When I create a Trip report, most of the time, there is a zero value in the Distance field. The device has made several trips. Only one of the trips resulted in a value other than 0 in the Distance field.
Do you know what might cause this? Is there a debug step I can perform to help diagnose the issue?
Thanks,
Mike
