I guess you are talking about "Traccar Client" app, not "Traccar" server. On Android you can select network location provider instead of GPS or mixed. You can also reduce frequency of reports.

I think the precision of the data will be quite bad, if I choose network location provider instead of GPS. Is that correct? How big precision would I get with "network location"?
Choosing both would not save me any battery time, I think.
I was thinking of a parameter to set the polling time for the GPS. Is that available? Would it save anything? 10 seconds could be fine for some of my purposes.
In an urban area network location precision is quite good.
If you set reporting interval to 10 seconds, GPS will always be on. Android will only turn GPS off if the period between reports is more than a minute or a few minutes.
I am new to traccar. Is there something I can do to improve the battery resources used by traccar, eg polling the GPS less frequently, or just collecting data?
