Traccar using Home Assistant
You need a way for your device to connect to the server. It usually means you need a SIM card. But there are other ways sometimes, like satellite connection, WiFi etc.

Sorry for the basic question: I want to install a ESP32 GPS tracker device on a single trailer and integrate it into Home Assistant to trigger alarms and automations. I cannot determine what device I need, do I need a tracker with a sim card? 4G? or does the server some how connect with my tracking device? Thank you.
