traccar is even installed on Windows, any user without programming knowledge can install and use it. that doesn't make sense to me
For a GPS app like Traccar to be useful, it should be active 24/7.
To reliably achieve that, one should use a server or a computer with server-grade components.
In my case, that's the HPE Microserver gen. 10, with TrueNAS operating system installed.
TrueNAS's main role is data storage, but it has an option to host Docker applications as well.
I have CCTV, VPN and RustDesk apps installed and use them often.
Windows server can be used for all of that, although expensive if not pirated, and has much more to it (clutter in that case), than be just the GPS app host.
Nevertheless, I would not use it for data storage, as it's not reliable enough in the budget variant.
Since NAS devices and Docker containers are gaining popularity, this is why it is useful for me and many others, I hope.
Se a pessoa não é capaz de alugar um vps e copiar e colar simples comandos no terminal, creio que ela também não seja capaz de usar isso aí, mas em todo caso boa sorte.
TrueNAS is the World's #1 Open Source Enterprise Storage, based on OpenZFS. It is trusted by millions and deployed worldwide.
Apps are divided into 5 "trains" and, depending on which one you check, apps are shown in the operating system's app catalog (list).
Being on the official app list makes installation possible in a streamlined fashion. That way, it is very easy for the basic user to have it, without intermediate knowledge in Linux shell, networking, databases, Docker and other IT fields of expertise.
Here, you can post a comment in support of including Traccar in the official TrueNAS app list:
