Tracking an albatross flying from New Zealand to South America, the device crosses the IDL in a westerly direction. As it passes from positive numbers to negative numbers (eg 179.9 degrees to -179.9 degrees), the line that joins the track points goes the long way around the world when viewing in Reports -> Route.
Is it possible to detect this cross-over and draw the short line between points?

This is a known issue and unfortunately there's no solution currently. That's a mapping library limitation.
