Map view in home assistant

Nagra3 months ago

Hope this is the right place to ask.
I have a working Traccar Server. No problems at all, great piece of software engineering.

So what I did last weekend was to install a home assistant server, saw the traccar integration and thought I could give it a try.
Working fine, but I don't see any way/entity to view the cars current location on a map.

These are the only entities I have for each car.

Am I missing something?
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Probably a question to the home assistant plugin developer.

Once you have the Traccar plugin installed and configured in HA, you must go to settings -> people.

Then you must configure each device (person), to appear on the map, you must enable login, create a password, and only enter local network login.

Then you must choose the entity to be tracked. This way it will appear on the map.

Thanks, but isn't thst only if I install the server on HA?
I have it running separately and only want to see the position of the users.

What you need is to install the Traccar integration, this will make HA receive the information on your Traccar server.
Integration is one thing, the server itself is another thing. The Traccar Server can be anywhere on the planet and is not necessarily local.

It seems like you're not talking about this integration?

Looks totally different.
Can you please point me to the one you use in the pictures?

Exactly, that's what you need.

You must install and configure it, and then you can get where you want.
