The default.xml file was good for transparency , people was able to see what exactly what can do the traccar server .

If you hide the default config file people will lost the thrust in the traccar server , because they cant see all the things can do the traccar server .

If the config file cant be readed then the people can belive that you put in the config file some unwanted settings and you hide this things to cant be readed .

Kind Regards,

This decision was driven by people misusing the file all the time. Many people would edit it, even when it says DO NOT MODIFY in all caps in the file itself. Then there were also people who would copy the file on upgrade and leave Traccar in completely broken state. People clearly voted with their actions that they don't know how to use this file and it needs to be removed.

You can still see everything in the code. Source code is open. We have nothing to hide.

Thank you for your time to answer .
The most people who install traccar server dont know how to read the source code , some of them dont know what means: a database , a public IP and other simple things about servers .

We also have the documentation for people who don't want or don't know how to read the source.
