Traccar Client version 1.6 for iPhone and iPad is now available on the App Store.
It is a minor update to fix the problem with new Apple Location APIs in iOS 8.
In all previous versions of iOS there was no need to explicitly request location services permissions in the app. As soon as the app requests location update, the operating system would automatically check permissions and show user the dialog box to approve access to the location info. In iOS 8 this changed and now app needs to request permissions explicitly with special API call. In addition, the app should provide a reason for requesting location information which will be displayed on the dialog box.
Traccar Client 1.5 didn't have the call, so all new app installations would silently fail to get location info without providing any error message to the app or the user. Users who had Traccar Client installed before upgrading to iOS 8, everything worked without any issues because location services permission was already granted to the app.
